In 1977 the local W.E.A. (Workers Educational Association) published a booklet titled "Rayne ~ From early times to the present day".   This was done before PCs and electronic typewriters were common-place.  A copy of the first edition has been scanned by a member of the Village Society and is now available here as images of the pages enlarged by about 40% (depending on your screen settings).
