BOGUS CALLERS.

I know that we can do everything we can to deter any unwanted callers to OUR door.
We are strong enough to say "NO" and do not remove the chain from the door.
We even show our Nominated Neighbour card too!
However in recent weeks there are have a few more artifice /distraction burglaries in local villages, and the victims who have been targeted are vulnerable and live on their own, and are trusting too!
We should make every effort to meet our neighbours, not just those who live next door, but those "just around the corner" and persuade them to be strong and show their Nominated Neighbour Card or just call someone for assistance when they have uninvited callers.

Give them your phone number or in fact your Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator number to call should they be in a situation, which may need assistance with callers at their door!
Keeping in touch means that we all care for each other, which is paramount in a caring society!

STOLEN PURSES & WALLETS.

It is acknowledged that some people like to have a "bell" attached to their purse/wallet whilst it is in the shopping bag, but this should be used as a reminder to place it in the bottom of your bag and not have it on display!  If your purse/wallet is taken, by the time you hear the sound of the bell your wallet/purse has probably gone!

So let's all get together and agree, in future, that wherever you are, your money is safe and secure and not on show when you are out and about.

Sadly the days are gone when you could shop around and leave your purse/wallet close to you and next to the items you have just bought!

So please can everyone remember that each time you take your purse/wallet out to pay for a purchase - remember to place it back securely deep into your bag and then zip it up every time.

An added precaution is to keep your bag in front of you, rather than over your shoulder- I know that it may be uncomfortable- but it would be more inconvenient to lose cash and credit cards!!!

Do not leave your bag loosely on the trolley either as it can be easily snatched.

Bag dipping and purse snatching is a continuing trend so please place all your personal items which hold your cash & cards firmly out of sight.

So what if you hold-up the queue whilst you take your money out?
It is better to take a little longer, than a very long time trying to replace what you may lose.

Christmas is coming, I have been told, and so is Winter!

So button up your coat and at the same time button/zip up your purse & wallet!

It makes sense and keeps you healthy. wealthy and wise!!
